More Than a Brand: Why We Started Poppy by the Shore

Some of the best memories are the simplest ones.

It's early mornings grabbing coffee before the beach. Salt in your hair after a day by the water. Baseball games on the radio with the windows down. Dogs running through the sand. Hoodies thrown over sun-kissed shoulders when the air turns cool. Fourth of July weekends, lobster rolls, ferry rides, and sunsets that somehow never get old.

Growing up, those moments were centered around one person—our grandfather, lovingly known as Poppy.

He was the heart of every summer. A lifelong Boston sports fan, a dog lover through and through, and someone who believed that the best days were spent with family, friends, and the people (and pups) you loved most. He taught us that happiness wasn't found in big moments, but it was built in the everyday traditions that become your favorite memories.

When we lost him, we realized those summers, those traditions, and that feeling of home were gifts we'd carry with us forever.

Poppy by the Shore was created by two sisters with one goal: to bottle up the feeling of an East Coast summer and share it with others. Our grandfather taught us that life wasn't about rushing from one thing to the next. It was about slowing down, making memories, and finding joy in the little moments.

Every piece we create is rooted in those memories—and made in hopes that it becomes part of yours.
